Perceptual Organization in Colour Perception: Inverting the Gamut Expansion Effect [PDF]
In the well-known gamut expansion effect, uniformly coloured target patches are perceived as more colourful when they are embedded in a uniform grey surround than when they are embedded in a variegated one.

When chemistry is too colourful: gamut clipping in 8-bit sRGB risks misinterpretation of camera-based chemical analysis [PDF]
Digital cameras are increasingly utilised to capture visual changes in chemical processes. Monitoring colour with computer vision tools serves as a valuable proxy for monitoring bulk chemical changes.

All-dielectric Schrödinger colours across the visible spectrum [PDF]
Structural colours, which arise from nanostructures, are pervasive in nature and play a pivotal role in numerous modern applications. Traditional approaches usually deviate from the concept of Schrödinger’s pixels and thus have restricted performance in ...

Selection for gamut mapping colour constancy [PDF]
Abstract The requirement that the sensor responses of a camera to a given surface reflectance be constant under changing illumination conditions has led to the development of the so called colour constancy algorithms. Given an image recorded under an unknown illuminant, the task for a colour constancy algorithm is to recover an estimate of the scene ...

Spatial Colour Gamut Mapping by Means of Anisotropic Diffusion [PDF]
We present a computationally efficient, artifact-free, spatial colour gamut mapping algorithm. The proposed algorithm offers a compromise between the colorimetrically optimal gamut clipping and an ideal spatial gamut mapping. It exploits anisotropic diffusion to reduce the introduction of halos often appearing in spatially gamut mapped images.

A dataset for illuminant- and device- invariant colour barcode decoding with cameras [PDF]
Barcodes are visual representations of data widely used in commerce and administration to compactly codify information about objects, services, and people. Specifically, a barcode is an image composed of parallel lines, with different widths, spacing and
