[Ethology of the pigeon (Columba livia)].

An ethometrical analysis of street pigeons showed that most social interactions under conditions of overpopulation are of an aggressive nature. Through various mechanisms this frequent aggressive behaviour leads to "slumlike" living conditions characterized by intraspecific stress.
