Phosphorus retention capacity in red ferralitic soil [PDF]
In this study the main physical-chemical characteristics of red ferralitic soil to use as substrate in subsurface wetlands was determined. The P-removal was evaluated in a short-term isotherm batch experiment and in a column percolation experiment.

Theoretical and experimental research on progressive collapse of RC frame buildings [PDF]
Progressive collapse of the buildings has become an important issue to be studied in recent years due to the catastrophic nature of its effects. This subject can be approached from two different perspectives: one where an ideal collapse of the structure ...

Progressive Collapse Analysis Of Flat Slab Buildings With Post-Punching Effect [PDF]
The reinforced concrete flat slab is one of the types of floor systems used to construct residential, office and parking buildings. Because of the direct transfer of floor loads to columns, flat slabs are susceptible to punching failure in slab-column ...

Intensification of heat removal in diabatic columns
Abstract Diabatic units having heat exchanger tubes functioning as dephlegmators on trays, which allow to reduce the cost of the process, are considered. It is shown that the most efficient approach is to arrange heat removal with the film flow of the heat carrier in the diabatic column dephlegmator.

Arsenic removal in a sulfidogenic fixed-bed column bioreactor
In the present study, the bioremoval of arsenic from synthetic acidic wastewater containing arsenate (As(5+)) (0.5-20mg/L), ferrous iron (Fe(2+)) (100-200mg/L) and sulfate (2,000 mg/L) was investigated in an ethanol fed (780-1,560 mg/L chemical oxygen demand (COD)) anaerobic up-flow fixed bed column bioreactor at constant hydraulic retention time (HRT)
