Towards Diverse and Consistent Typography Generation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
In this work, we consider the typography generation task that aims at producing diverse typographic styling for the given graphic document. We formulate typography generation as a fine-grained attribute generation for multiple text elements and build an autoregressive model to generate diverse typography that matches the input design context.

Word-As-Image for Semantic Typography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
A word-as-image is a semantic typography technique where a word illustration presents a visualization of the meaning of the word, while also preserving its readability. We present a method to create word-as-image illustrations automatically. This task is highly challenging as it requires semantic understanding of the word and a creative idea of where ...

DS-Fusion: Artistic Typography via Discriminated and Stylized Diffusion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We introduce a novel method to automatically generate an artistic typography by stylizing one or more letter fonts to visually convey the semantics of an input word, while ensuring that the output remains readable. To address an assortment of challenges with our task at hand including conflicting goals (artistic stylization vs.

WordArt Designer: User-Driven Artistic Typography Synthesis using Large Language Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
This paper introduces WordArt Designer, a user-driven framework for artistic typography synthesis, relying on the Large Language Model (LLM). The system incorporates four key modules: the LLM Engine, SemTypo, StyTypo, and TexTypo modules. 1) The LLM Engine, empowered by the LLM (e.g., GPT-3.5), interprets user inputs and generates actionable prompts ...

Awesome Typography: Statistics-Based Text Effects Transfer [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
In this work, we explore the problem of generating fantastic special-effects for the typography. It is quite challenging due to the model diversities to illustrate varied text effects for different characters. To address this issue, our key idea is to exploit the analytics on the high regularity of the spatial distribution for text effects to guide the

Kinetic Typography Diffusion Model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This paper introduces a method for realistic kinetic typography that generates user-preferred animatable 'text content'. We draw on recent advances in guided video diffusion models to achieve visually-pleasing text appearances. To do this, we first construct a kinetic typography dataset, comprising about 600K videos.

Dark Radiation and the Hagedorn Phase [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. D 105, 066007 (2022), 2021
We point out that if the sector associated with the Standard Model degrees of freedom entered an open string Hagedorn phase in the early universe while the dark radiation sector was not part of this plasma, then this can lead to low values of the observable $\Delta N_{\text{eff}}$ (number of additional neutrinolike species) from the dark radiation. For

Hidden bawls, whispers, and yelps: can text be made to sound more than just its words? [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Trans. Affect. Comput. 14 (2023) 6-16, 2022
Whether a word was bawled, whispered, or yelped, captions will typically represent it in the same way. If they are your only way to access what is being said, subjective nuances expressed in the voice will be lost. Since so much of communication is carried by these nuances, we posit that if captions are to be used as an accurate representation of ...
