Making green easy: providing ward‐based education and resources to optimise pharmaceutical waste management

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy Practice and Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Medicines are the most common healthcare intervention. However, disposal of pharmaceutical waste in health facilities contributes significantly to financial costs and carbon emissions, and incorrect disposal can lead to environmental contamination.

The role of the community pharmacist in medicine information transfer during transitions of care and the impact on associated outcomes: a scoping review

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy Practice and Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Transitions of care (TOC) between hospital and community settings are high‐risk periods for medication‐related problems (MRPs), often caused by inadequate information transfer between healthcare settings. Community pharmacists are well positioned to support continuity of care; however, they are frequently excluded from the ...

Geochronological reconstruction of the Lateglacial deglaciation in the Arve Valley (Northern French Alps)

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The timing and spatial patterns of glaciers retreat in the Northern French Alps during the Lateglacial (19.0–11.7 ka) remain debated, reflecting discrepancies among available chronological data sets. The complex interactions between major glaciers, such as the Rhône and Arve glaciers to the north and the Isère glacier to the south, represent a

Detecting Antibiotic Resistance in Strains of Selected Gram‐Negative Bacterial Species Using Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman spectroscopy successfully identified antibiotic‐resistant Gram‐negative strains. Resistant strains of four bacterial species were discriminated from sensitive ones with 99.1% accuracy using PLS regression. The method allows for rapid, label‐free detection of antibiotic resistance.

Models of DG‐Carbon Bands in Raman Spectra: Effects of Basis Functions and Initial Values on the Uniqueness and S/N of Fits Obtained for Atmospheric Aerosol Using Automated Methods

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman spectra containing D/G features are fit using combinations of basis functions and initial conditions. Fits with two Lorentzian functions converged to a single optimized fit even with variation of initial peak positions. For five‐band fits, sometimes the final fit varied with initial conditions, and constraints on peak center position were ...
