IUE and Optical Spectra of AL Comae Berenices During a Rare Superoutburst

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1996
Artículo de publicación ISI ; We present optical spectra from 3 to 21 days and lUE spectra at 10 and 19 days following the outburst of the extreme amplitude, very short orbital period cataclysmic variable AL Corn after a 20 yr quiescent interval. The lUE spectra have no evidence of P Cyg profiles and show an early presence of Lyα absorption, which may ...

Age‐related differences in hydroxychloroquine‐associated adverse events: A pharmacovigilance study based on the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims This real‐world pharmacovigilance study utilizes FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) data (2004–2024) to characterize age‐related disparities in hydroxychloroquine (HCQ)‐associated adverse events (AEs), addressing gaps in age‐stratified risk assessment. Methods Disproportionality analysis (reporting odds ratios, RORs) and parametric Weibull

The Remarkable 60 x 2 kpc Optical Filament Associated with a Poststarburst Galaxy in the Coma Cluster [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2007
In the deep narrow band image of the Coma Cluster taken with Suprime-Cam of the Subaru telescope, we found an extremely long and narrow (~ 60 kpc x 2 kpc) Halpha emitting region associated with a poststarburst galaxy (D100). Follow up spectroscopy shows that the region has the same redshift as D100.

Exploring the Anti‐Diabetic Potential of Anthocyanins: From Biochemical Pathways to Human Trials

open access: yesChronic Diseases and Translational Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a global health challenge with increasing prevalence rates, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries. Anthocyanins (ACs) are potential bioactive compounds found in various fruits and vegetables, attracting the attention of researchers due to their possible role in managing diabetes and its complications ...

Evaluation of the Therapeutic Potential of Bioactive Materials Based on a Complex of Oxidovanadium(IV) and Exopolysaccharide Levan in a Model of Insulin Resistance in Mice

open access: yesChemMedChem, EarlyView.
A low‐toxicity bioactive composition of oxidovanadium(IV) and exopolysaccharide levan is synthesized, characterized, and shown to reduce hyperglycemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and TyG index in a mice model of dexamethasone‐induced insulin resistance. Bioactive compositions containing vanadium complexes have been a viable strategy for constructing more ...

Two-mirror Schwarzschild aplanats. Basic relations

open access: yes, 2004
It is shown that the theory of aplanatic two-mirror telescopes developed by Karl Schwarzschild in 1905 leads to the unified description both the prefocal and the postfocal systems.

Fetal Pain Perception: Legislative Assertions and Developmental Neuroscience

open access: yesAnnals of the Child Neurology Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pain perception is a conscious experience, but neither pain nor consciousness is defined in the developing human fetus. Emergent consciousness may be regarded as a phenomenon that ultimately arises from an essential minimum of functional neuronal connectivity. Proposed U.S.

Clinicians' Experiences of Providing Compulsory Care for Youth With Anorexia Nervosa: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective While compulsory treatment is shown to be potentially traumatic for patients, its impact on clinicians has been insufficiently studied. This study aimed to examine clinicians' experiences with providing compulsory nasogastric tube feeding for youth with severe anorexia nervosa, with particular attention to identifying factors ...

Towards a Conceptual Integration of Collective Victimization Beliefs and Their Variation Within and Across Contexts: A Q Methodology Study in Five Communities

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Social Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although social psychological research on how people understand collective victimization often examines comparisons between groups’ suffering, studies on related concepts (e.g., collective trauma) suggest numerous other relevant beliefs. The present article aimed to integrate diverse collective victimization beliefs and contribute to their ...
