SAOLIM, a prototype of a low cost System for Adaptive Optics with Lucky Imaging

open access: yes, 2010
A prototype of a low cost Adaptive Optics (AO) system has been developed at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (CSIC) and tested at the 2.2m telescope of the Calar Alto observatory.

Multifrequency observations of the optically active radio-quiet quasar GQ Comae. II - Ultraviolet, optical, and infrared continuum variability

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1993
This paper summarizes the data and preliminary results of a 3 yr long project to monitor the continuum variability of GQ Comae (PG 1202 + 281) from 0.12 micron to 3.5 microns. Substantial variability in the optical/UV flux was observed. The variability is examined using a geometrically thin accretion disk model.

The 3-D structure of the Coma–A 1367 supercluster: Optical spectroscopy of 102 galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomy and Astrophysics Supplement Series, 1999
Optical spectroscopy of 117 CGCG galaxies, 102 of which are projected in the direction of the Coma{ A 1367 supercluster, is reported. These new measure- ments, added to those found in the literature, bring to 1068 the number of CGCG galaxies in this region with available redshift, out of a total of 1085 objects with mp 15:7.

Are single‐item global rating scales the same, better, or worse than multi‐item scales in epilepsy: A scoping review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To examine the performance of single‐item global ratings (SIGRs) and multi‐item scales (MISs) in epilepsy research, and assess the influence of diverse constructs, study designs, and statistical methods. Methods Systematic scoping review following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) and Joanna ...

LSST optical beam simulator

open access: yes, 2014
We describe a camera beam simulator for the LSST which is capable of illuminating a 60mm field at f/1.2 with realistic astronomical scenes, enabling studies of CCD astrometric and photometric performance.

Frontiers in EEG as a tool for the management of pediatric epilepsy: Past, present, and future

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Electroencephalography (EEG) has evolved into an indispensable tool in pediatric epilepsy, fundamentally transforming the diagnosis, classification, and management of this condition. This review chronicles the historical journey of EEG from its groundbreaking inception to its current pivotal role in delineating distinct pediatric epilepsy ...

Study of alternate optical and fine guidance sensor designs for the space infrared telescope facility (SIRTF) [PDF]

open access: yes
A unique optical design was developed that compensates for the coma degraded images caused by field chopping in SIRTF. The conic constants of a Cassegrain telescope were altered to compensate for the coma induced by the secondary mirror tilt.

Anti‐NMDA receptor autoimmune encephalitis associated with ovarian teratoma: A case series and literature review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 169, Issue 1, Page 23-30, April 2025.
Abstract Autoimmune encephalitis is a group of disorders characterized by symptoms of dysfunction of the limbic and extra‐limbic systems that occur in association with antibodies against intracellular antigens, synapses, or proteins located on the surface of nerve cells. Anti‐NMDA (N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate) receptor encephalitis was first described in 2007

Peculiar Optical Structure of Galaxies in a Central Field of the Coma Cluster [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1968
Several galaxies in a central field of the Coma cluster show structural pecularities on well-exposed 200-inch plates. Six categories are discussed: ( 1 ) Supergiant size, ( 2 ) Jet appendage, ( 3 ) Fan appendage, ( 4 ) Multiple central bulge, (5) Contact double, (6) Other.

Evaluating Brief Behavioural Activation for depression in adolescents with acquired brain injury using a single‐case experimental design

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Adolescents who have had an acquired brain injury (ABI) commonly experience depression. Brief Behavioural Activation (Brief BA) is a successful, values‐based intervention for managing depression in neurotypical adolescents. This study investigated the effectiveness of Brief BA, using a single‐case experimental design, with ...
