Rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory joint disease, which can cause cartilage and bone damage as well as disability. Early diagnosis is key to optimal therapeutic success, particularly in patients with well-characterised risk factors for poor ...

Sedimentary record of submarine gravity‐flow events in the southern Ryukyu forearc during the last 200 000 years: Archive of mega‐earthquakes and tsunamis

open access: yesSedimentology, Volume 72, Issue 7, Page 2323-2360, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Despite high convergence velocity, the southern Ryukyu subduction has relatively low and sparse instrumental seismicity, in contrast with the Yaeyama Islands, hit by huge tsunamis over the last few thousand years. This study explores the potential of deep marine sediments to record past large earthquakes and tsunamis.

Scale separation in granular packings: stress plateaus and fluctuations

open access: yes, 2006
It is demonstrated, by numerical simulations of a 2D assembly of polydisperse disks, that there exists a range (plateau) of coarse graining scales for which the stress tensor field in a granular solid is nearly resolution independent, thereby enabling an

Failure of the Volume Function in Granular Statistical Mechanics and an Alternative Formulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We first show that the currently accepted statistical mechanics for granular matter is flawed. The reason is that it is based on the volume function, which depends only on a minute fraction of all the structural degrees of freedom and is unaffected by ...

Successful Treatment of Post‐SARS‐CoV‐2 Infection Reactive Arthritis With Secukinumab: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT This case describes a rare occurrence of post‐SARS‐CoV‐2 infection reactive arthritis with psoriasiform lesions. The patient failed to respond to conventional therapies but responded well to secukinumab, underscoring that it may be a valuable treatment for refractory post‐SARS‐CoV‐2 infection reactive arthritis when conventional therapies fail.

Combe-Cullier (Lacave, Lot) : une séquence exceptionnelle du Magdalénien au bord de la Dordogne lotoise

open access: yesGallia Préhistoire
The Combe-Cullier site (Lacave, Lot) is one of the few sites with a Magdalenian archaeosequence investigated using modern excavation methods. Its exceptional archaeological fill covers the entire Magdalenian period between 21,000 and 14,000 cal. BP.

Mantle Structure Beneath the Greater Alpine Region From Teleseismic Full P‐Waveform Inversion

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract AlpArray data were employed to infer a new mantle model of the Alps from teleseismic full P‐waveform inversion. It features hybrid numerical forward modeling in the time domain, compression of wavefields by Fourier transform at selected frequencies, the use of frequency domain waveform sensitivity kernels and a multi‐scale approach by ...
