On three-dimensional q-Riordan arrays

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
In this article, we define three-dimensional q-Riordan arrays and q-Riordan representations for these arrays. Also, we give four cases of infinite multiplication three-dimensional matrices of these arrays.

Vector partitions and combinatorial identities [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1964
In this note we show how certain relations between vector partition functions can be deduced from certain identities. A relation connecting vector partitions having odd components and those having distinct parts will be proved. A combinatorial proof of Jacobi's Identity similar to Franklin's proof of Euler identity is suggested.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Some Identities for the Two Variable Fubini Polynomials

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we perform a further investigation for the Fubini polynomials. By making use of the generating function methods and Padé approximation techniques, we establish some new identities for the two variable Fubini polynomials. Some special cases

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Combinatorial identities for vacillating tableaux

open access: yes
Vacillating tableaux are sequences of integer partitions that satisfy specific conditions. The concept of vacillating tableaux stems from the representation theory of the partition algebra and the combinatorial theory of crossings and nestings of matchings and set partitions. In this paper, we further investigate the enumeration of vacillating tableaux

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Many identities from one

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 1996
We specialise an ingeniously contrived identity to obtain a plethora of startling combinatorial identities. Limiting cases include well known evaluations of ζ(2), ζ(4) and ζ(6).

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
