NANUQ: a method for inferring species networks from gene trees under the coalescent model
Species networks generalize the notion of species trees to allow for hybridization or other lateral gene transfer. Under the network multispecies coalescent model, individual gene trees arising from a network can have any topology, but arise with ...

Topologic proofs of some combinatorial theorems
AbstractDuring the last 50 years several combinatorial theorems have been proved which have provided elegant proofs of a number of fundamental results in topology. These include Sperner's Lemma, Tucker's Lemma, and Kuhn's Cubical Sperner Lemma, which have been applied to the Brouwer Fixed Point Theorem, as well as a number of results involving ...

Twin Crystal Moiré Metasurfaces for Crossing Flat‐Band Transport
This study introduces twin crystal moiré metasurfaces, breaking in‐plane symmetry to enable reconfigurable acoustic wave manipulation. By adjusting the twin angle and interlayer twist angle, various combinations of hyperbolic, flat bands, and elliptic states can be synthesized in the system.

Low‐Profile, High‐Gain GRIN RF Lenses via Multi‐Material Vat Photopolymerization
We investigate the opportunity of leveraging multi‐material vat photopolymerization printing to manufacture intricate lenses exhibiting permittivity gradients that can increase signal gain in transmitted radiofrequency signals in the X‐ and Ku‐bands. Lenses produced with more distinct low‐loss materials (up to 5) can deliver an 18 dB signal gain with a

A SHORT TOPOLOGICAL PROOF OF A COMBINATORIAL RESULT
The author gives a topological proof of the following combinatorial theorem which easily implies a theorem of \textit{M. Talagrand} [Isr. J. Math. 40, 324-330 (1981; Zbl 0488.46016)] concerning the existence of copies of \(\ell^ 1_{\alpha}\) in closed subspaces of C(K), separating the points of K, for a compact space K which can be mapped continuously ...
