Investigation of the effect of combined flame retardants “phosphorus + triazine” on combustibility and operational properties of extrusion-type polyamides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The article describes the effect of a synergetic mixture of triazine compounds and red phosphorus on combustibility, physical, mechanical and operational properties of polymeric compositions based on polyamide-6 modified by ethylene-1-octene copolymer ...

Two Routes to Land: Genomic Underpinnings of Parallel Aerial Egg Deposition in Aquatic Old‐World Pila and New‐World Pomacea (Ampullariidae)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Comparative genomics of Gondwana‐diverged Pila and Pomacea reveals parallel evolution of aerial oviposition. Convergent chromosomal rearrangements reshape regulatory landscapes within topologically associating domains. Lineage‐specific gene family expansions and viral‐derived perivitelline proteins (PV1) underpin desiccation resistance.

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

MG53 Coordinates Macrophage Polarization and Neuroimmune Coupling to Promote Corneal Nerve Regeneration via the MPEG1–MVP–STAT6 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corneal nerve regeneration is critical to corneal wound healing processes. The current study reveals a novel role of MG53 in promoting corneal nerve regeneration after alkali induced injury. Mechanistically, MG53 enters macrophages via its receptor, MPEG1, promotes MVP K63 ubiquitination, and triggers STAT6 induced repair‐related genes expression ...

Polymorphic Superparaelectric Engineering Boosting Energy Storage Capacity in BaTiO3‐Based Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, Ca2+ incorporation promotes the coexistence of CaTiO3‐/BaTiO3‐derived paraferroelectric states, stabilizing cubic‐orthorhombic‐tetragonal polymorphic superparaelectric phases. This minimizes polarization energy barriers, facilitating full polarization saturation without compromising efficiency.

Highly Efficient and Environmentally Stable Radiative Cooling Fabric: Integrating Photoluminescence and Hierarchical Core–Shell Fibers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A scalable radiative cooling fabric engineered with a multi‐layer assembly core–shell structure and integrated photoluminescent materials is reported. The fabric exhibits remarkable environmental stability, including UV resistance, mechanical durability, hydrophobicity, stain resistance, thermal stability, and flame retardancy, demonstrating its ...

Evaluation of the interlaboratory test 2015 – 2016 on the method UN Test L.2 “Sustained combustibility test” / EN ISO 9038:2013 “Determination of sustained combustibility of liquids"

open access: yes, 2017
The test methods UN Test L.2 / EN ISO 9038:2013 DIN EN 15188:2007 are applied to characterize the sustained combustibility of liquids i.e. the behaviour of a material under specified test conditions, whereby its vapour can be ignited by an ignition ...

Eco‐Geography Reverses Dominant AMR Reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae: Integron‐Rich Mobilomes and Cross‐Niche Connectivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dominant antimicrobial resistance reservoirs in Klebsiella pneumoniae vary across eco‐geographic settings rather than following a universal pattern. Integrated One Health and global genomic analyses show that lineage structure, integron load, and cross‐niche connectivity shape whether AMR burden accumulates primarily in human or nonhuman compartments ...

Rural Social Combustibility in Eastern Europe (1880–1914): A Cross-Border Perspective

open access: yes, 2017
:This article proposes a comparative, cross-border analysis of the sources of rural combustibility around the complex frontier between Austria-Hungary, Tsarist Russia and the states that emerged out of the fringes of the Ottoman Empire, Romania, Serbia ...
