Modelling of premixed combustion in a gas turbine [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Three steady state combustion models, two turbulence models and a model for tK'6 prediction of NO., were implemented and investigated on a simple backward facing step experiment as well as an experimental lean prevaporised premixed (LPP) combustor ...

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

Numerical simulation of spray combustion using bio-mass derived liquid fuels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The main objective of this work is to create a robust model for two-phase liquid spray combustion flow using vegetable oils, to investigate the flow structure generated by a swirler array with different fuels, and secondly to assess and optimise the ...

Efficiency of log wood combustion affects the toxicological and chemical properties of emission particles

open access: yes, 2012
Context: Particulate matter (PM) has been identified as a major environmental pollutant causing severe health problems. Large amounts of the harmful particulate matter (PM) are emitted from residential wood combustion, but the toxicological properties of

Synergized Tri‐Phase Anode via Purposive Ba2+ Doping at the La3+ Site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ for Improved SOFC Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Purposive doping of low electronegative Ba2+ (0.89) at La3+ (1.1) site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ induces the formation of a tri‐phase composite, which shortens Fe─O bond and lowers activation energy, thereby significantly improves electrical conductivity and catalytic activity, and finally offers a record‐high peak power density in La0.5Ba0.5Fe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ ...

Influence of pulsed air entries on a spray generated by an air-blast injection device : an experimental analysis on combustion instability process in aeroengines

open access: yes, 2002
Recent advances in aeroengine design tend to diminish the thrust-to-weight ratio and to ameliorate the combustion efficiency, taking into account the optimization of both pollutant emissions and noise level.

Nano Carbon‐mesh with Excellent Bonding Performance via Hydro‐cage De‐shielding Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hydro‐cage de‐shielding strategy transforms cellulose‐based films into a dragonfly‐wing‐like nano carbon‐mesh (NCM) adhesive through instantaneous carbonization‐polymerization. The resulting NCM‐plywood achieves exceptional wet shear strength (1.24 MPa at 63°C), exceeding Class II plywood standards, and retains 0.73 MPa after boiling‐water cycles ...

An Embodied Paper‐Based Microfluidic Al‐Air Battery for Enduring Untethered Insect‐Scale Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a centimeter‐scale microfluidic aluminum–air battery (MFAAB) with dual‐surface anode and F−‐mediated byproduct decomposition. The design enables a high capacity of 2697.05 mAh/g Al and delivers tens of milliwatts to power LEDs, motors, and a toy car.
