Liquid rocket combustion chamber acoustic characterization [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2010
Over the last 40 years, many solid and liquid rocket motors have experienced combustion instabilities. Among other causes, there is the interaction of acoustic modes with the combustion and/or fluid dynamic processes inside the combustion chamber ...

An experimental study of coupling between combustor pressure, fuel/air mixing, and the flame [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Fuel-air mixing behavior under the influence of imposed acoustic oscillations has been studied by investigating the response of the fuel mixture fraction field.

A Si‐MoSe2 Heterostructured Anode with Enhanced Thermal Transport and Electrochemical Performance for Liquid and All‐Solid‐State Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chemically bonded Si@MoSe2@C heterointerfaces with robust Si─Se─Mo bonds enable high‐performance Si anodes. Lattice‐matched MoSe2 on porous Si with carbon‐protective coating delivers 1054 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles and 99.5% Coulombic efficiency over 400 cycles.

Bases of Combustion Instability

open access: yes, 2021
Combustible systems generally consist of two types of chemically interacting components during combustion: an oxidizing agent (oxygen, fluorine, chlorine, their compounds) and fuel (hydrogen, hydrocarbons, nitrogen and hydrogen compounds, aluminum, etc.).

Multifunctional Phosphate Monomer Enabling LiNO3 Solvation and In Situ Formation of Flame‐Retardant Gel Polymer Electrolyte for High‐Voltage Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A phosphorus‐containing multifunctional monomer is successfully synthesized to simultaneously enable the dissolution of lithium nitrate in ester‐based electrolytes and in situ form a flame‐retardant gel polymer electrolyte (GPE). The formed GPE effectively stabilizes the structures of both the cathode and anode, thereby achieving superior long‐term ...

Novel Phosphazenium Tetrafluoroborate Dopant Enables Efficient and Thermally Stable n‐Doped Organic Semiconductors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A novel n‐dopant, phosphazenium tetrafluoroborate (P2BF4), is introduced for efficient n‐doping in N2200, P(PzDPP‐CT2) and other organic semiconductors (OSCs). P2BF4‐doped OSC films exhibit exceptional thermal stability, maintaining electrical conductivity after heating at > 150 °C for 24 h. This stability allows organic thermoelectric devices based on

Combustion in thermonuclear supernova explosions

open access: yes, 2017
Type Ia supernovae are associated with thermonuclear explosions of white dwarf stars. Combustion processes convert material in nuclear reactions and release the energy required to explode the stars.

Propagation of gaseous detonation waves in a spatially inhomogeneous reactive medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Detonation propagation in a compressible medium wherein the energy release has been made spatially inhomogeneous is examined via numerical simulation. The inhomogeneity is introduced via step functions in the reaction progress variable, with the local ...
