Recent Advances in Laser‐Induced Graphene‐Based Gas Sensors: From Sensing Mechanisms to Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

The Thermonuclear Explosion Of Chandrasekhar Mass White Dwarfs [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
The flame born in the deep interior of a white dwarf that becomes a Type Ia supernova is subject to several instabilities. We briefly review these instabilities and the corresponding flame acceleration. We discuss the conditions necessary for each of the

Pulsed instabilities in combustion chambers [PDF]

open access: yes31st Joint Propulsion Conference and Exhibit, 1995
A pulsed or "triggered" instability occurs when pressure oscillations develop in a linearly stable combustion system after being subjected to a sufficiently large disturbance. Such true nonlinear instabilities usually occur as subcritical bifurcations in dynamical systems theory.

Advanced Technologies for Characterizing and Detecting Battery Thermal Failure: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Illustration of advanced characterization techniques to predict battery thermal failure. ABSTRACT Energy storage is essential in accelerating the global transition toward clean and sustainable energy across various sectors. Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) have become increasingly significant for energy storage due to their high energy density, low ...

Nonlinear analysis of pressure oscillations in ramjet engines [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Pressure oscillations in ramjet engines have been studied using an approximate method which treats the flow fields in the inlet and the combustor separately. The acoustic fields in the combustor are expressed as syntheses of coupled nonlinear oscillators

Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.
