Flame Propagation and Oscillation in a Millimeter-scale Constant Volume Space

open access: yes, 2020
Flame propagation pictures of a propane/air mixture are captured by a high-speed camera in a visualized constant volume combustion chamber with a diameter of 150 mm, a parallel plate height of H = 1.45 mm, and an initial pressure of P-0 = 1.25 similar to

Oscillating flames in micro-combustion

open access: yesCombustion and Flame, 2016
New experimental results that demonstrate the existence of oscillating flames in micro-combustion are reported here. The results showed the presence of oscillating regimes with different behaviors in the transition between the stable flames, FREI (Flame with Repetitive Extinction and Ignition), and weak flames.

Effect of the inner-surface baffles on the tangential acoustic mode in the cylindrical combustor

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2020
The combustion instability in a propulsion system is a ubiquitous problem. The radial baffles usually installed on the injector faceplate eliminate the combustion instability (acoustic pressure oscillation) in the propulsion system.
