Faster and Durable: A Cell‐to‐System Validation of a Low‐Degradation Fast‐Charge Protocol for Li‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A physics‐based framework resolving graphite phase‐separation dynamics establishes a predictive, degradation‐aware fast‐charging methodology for commercial Li‐ion batteries. The resulting model‐informed protocol achieves 20%–80% state‐of‐charge in 14 min while matching the long‐term degradation of a commercial 25‐minute EV strategy.

Optical Study and Numerical Simulation of the Effect of n‐butanol Mass on the Combustion Process of a n‐butanol/Diesel Dual‐Fuel Engine

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
n‐butanol, with its higher calorific value compared to methanol and ethanol, is well‐suited for diesel engine combustion. This study investigates the impact of n‐butanol addition on the combustion process in a n‐butanol/diesel dual‐fuel engine using both

Data‐Driven Modeling of Composition–Processing–Microstructure Relations for Recycled Aluminum Cast Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Interpretable machine learning reveals how composition and processing govern the formation and microstructural burden of Fe‐rich intermetallic compounds in recycled Al–Si–Fe–Mn alloys. By separating morphology selection from morphology‐conditioned burden partitioning, this framework shows that identical Fe contents can yield different intermetallic ...

The prediction of nonlinear three dimensional combustion instability in liquid rockets with conventional nozzles [PDF]

open access: yes
An analytical technique is developed to solve nonlinear three-dimensional, transverse and axial combustion instability problems associated with liquid-propellant rocket motors. The Method of Weighted Residuals is used to determine the nonlinear stability

Analytical combustion/emissions research related to the NASA high-speed research program [PDF]

open access: yes
Increasing the pressure and temperature of the engines of new generation supersonic airliners increases the emissions of nitrogen oxides to a level that would have an adverse impact on the Earth's protective ozone layer.

Synergized Tri‐Phase Anode via Purposive Ba2+ Doping at the La3+ Site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ for Improved SOFC Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Purposive doping of low electronegative Ba2+ (0.89) at La3+ (1.1) site in LaFe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ induces the formation of a tri‐phase composite, which shortens Fe─O bond and lowers activation energy, thereby significantly improves electrical conductivity and catalytic activity, and finally offers a record‐high peak power density in La0.5Ba0.5Fe0.7Ni0.3O3‐δ ...

Nano Carbon‐mesh with Excellent Bonding Performance via Hydro‐cage De‐shielding Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A hydro‐cage de‐shielding strategy transforms cellulose‐based films into a dragonfly‐wing‐like nano carbon‐mesh (NCM) adhesive through instantaneous carbonization‐polymerization. The resulting NCM‐plywood achieves exceptional wet shear strength (1.24 MPa at 63°C), exceeding Class II plywood standards, and retains 0.73 MPa after boiling‐water cycles ...
