Secular Light Curves of Comets C/2011 L4 Panstarrs and C/2012 S1 ISON Compared to 1P/Halley [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We used 1329 observations of comet C/2011 L4 Panstarrs and 1897 observations of C/2012 S1 ISON to create the Secular Light Curves (SLCs), and to compare them to comet 1P/Halley (3172 observations). These comets are at the present time approaching perihelion. Thus the information contained in this report is preliminary.

How Meteor Showers Can Guide the Search for Long Period Comets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
With orbital periods longer than 200 years, most long-period comets (LPCs) remain undiscovered until they are in-bound towards perihelion. The comets that pass close to Earth's orbit are Potentially Hazardous Objects (PHOs). Those with orbital periods up to ~4000 years tend to have passed close to Earth's orbit in a previous orbit and produced a ...

Efficacy of Haloxyfop‐R‐Methyl on Allium cepa: Cyto‐Genotoxic and In Silico Docking Studies on the Mechanism of Action

open access: yesMicroscopy Research and Technique, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Haloxyfop‐R‐methyl (HRM) is extensively employed to control annual and perennial grass weeds. This study aimed to investigate the cyto‐genotoxic effects of HRM at concentrations of 1.19, 2.38, and 4.76 mg/L over various time intervals (24, 48, 72, and 96 h) on Allium cepa root.

Conditions for the formation of anomalous tail of comet

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2019
The time and velocity of ejection of dust particles of anomalous tails from cometary nuclei are determined. It is revealed that some comets cause the formation of an anomalous tail is the collision of their comet nucleus with other bodies of the Solar ...
