Finite Lifetime Fragment Model 3 for striae formation in the dust tails of comets (FLM 3)
Icarus, 2021Abstract The striations in the Type II tail of the comets are called striae. The origin of the striae has been poorly understood. We present a new dynamical model to explain the structure of the striae observed at comets Hale-Bopp (C/1995O1), West (C/1975V1), and Seki-Lines (C/1962C1).

Modeling of the dust tail of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) from the results of observations
Solar System Research, 2015The results of the dynamic modeling of the process, that formed the dust tail of comet C/2012 S1 (ISON), are presented. The images of the comet were acquired with the 1-meter Zeiss-1000 telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SAO RAS). To construct the model of the dust tail, the trajectories of 50 million

Dust tail observation and modeling of the interstellar comet 2I/Borisov
On 30 August 2019 the amateur Borisov discovered a new comet; after few days it was clear from the characteristics of its orbit (eccentricity > 3 and high hyperbolic excess velocity) that the second interstellar object had been detected and the object received the name of 2I/Borisov.Gabriele Cremonese +8 more

Sekanina and Farrell's model for the striated dust tails of comets describes the formation of striae as a two-step fragmentation process that is characterized by an ejection time te of parent particles, by their radiation pressure acceleration βp, and by their fragmentation time tf.

The Astrophysical Journal, 2000
A preliminary examination of the tails of 11 Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) sungrazers, observed between 3 and 20 R☉ on their approach to the Sun, provides information on dust ejected from these comets and on the forces to which the microscopic grains are subjected.
