A model for battle damage assessment in Command and Control Warfare [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The main thrust of this thesis is to build a dynamic model of a Command and Control (C2) system and, by manipulating various aspects of the model, determine the effects of Command and Control Warfare (C2W) on the system. The model used is a prototype for

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

Robustness Analysis of LQR-PID Controller Based on PSO and GWO for Quadcopter Attitude Stabilization

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
The robust control of quadcopters is essential for maintaining stability and performance in dynamic environments. This paper examines the effectiveness of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) for tuning LQR-PID controllers ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Command control and communications system evaluation of DoD. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
This work evaluates the Department of Defense as a command, control, and communications (C3) system. The DoD is considered as the black box into which input is received from the President and the output is the actions taken by the nested C3 systems, such

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Reusable Ada software for command and control workstation map manipulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Current DoD Command and Control (2) priorities call for modules and interoperable C2 systems that can be assembled easily from standard components to provide unique C2 capabilities.

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

Application and expansion of the Modular Command & Control Evaluation Structure (MCES) as a framework for improving interoperability management. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
This thesis introduces the Modular Command and Control Evaluation Structure (MCES) as a tool which the author recommends for command and control (C2) planners to use when addressing interoperability management problems.
