College Teaching, 2005
There is a clear analogy between the improvisational actor and the teacher. Teaching in the college classroom has that same mix of premeditation and improvisation that effectively communicates with the audience. The theater metaphor is particularly useful for a teacher's development of presentational communication skills.

Organization Studies, 1995This paper employs the dramatistic metaphor of commedia dell'arte to interpret developments in a set of interlocking public administrative organizations in Sweden. More specifically, the performances given by state and municipal politicians studied in several projects of ours are analyzed, with the help of what we know of this special kind of theatre.

Si propone qui un'origine e un significato diversi da quelli correnti per l'espressione "commedia dell'arte". Non dunque "commedia dei professionisti" come, da Benedetto Croce in poi si è sempre sostenuto, ma,, coerentemente al senso in cui la parola arte era all'epoca usata, "commedia di eccellenza".
