Thrombomodulin activity in commercial thromboplastin preparations

Thrombosis Research, 1986
Recently, it was reported that endothelial cells contain a membrane protein which serves as a cofactor for the activation of protein C by thrombin (thrombomodulin). Because many commercial thromboplastins are prepared from vessel-rich tissues/organs (lung, brain, placenta), it was hypothesized that some preparations may contain significant amounts of ...

Functional activity of commercial prebiotics

International Dairy Journal, 2007
Abstract This work established a quantitative score to describe the extent to which prebiotics (fructooligosaccharides, inulin, and galactooligosaccharides) support selective growth of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria. The prebiotic activity assay was based on the change in cell biomass after 24 h of growth of the probiotic strain on 1% prebiotic or 1%

What makes space activities commercial?

Acta Astronautica, 2021
Abstract Between the 1950s and 1980s, U.S. space sector activities were government-driven, government-sponsored, government-managed, and assisted by the industry-sector. Awareness of non-governmental space activities originated in the 1980s and gained prominence in the early 2000s with the founding of well-funded private companies.

Commercial Space Station Activities

2017
At present five space agencies, NASA, Roscosmos, ESA, JAXA and CSA (e.g. ISS partners), are operating the International Space Station in low Earth orbit (LEO). They own and operate their own modules and share some of the on-board experimental racks. The space station is the result of 25 years of international cooperation between the agencies.
