Proceedings of the British Society of Animal Production (1972), 1972
For the purpose of the present discussion I will define commercial cutting as the cutting of carcasses into commercial wholesale or retail cuts, and the trimming of some fatty tissue and bone from these to commercial specifications. I assume that this will be done by a commercially trained butcher.

COMMERCIAL ACCELERATED PORK PROCESSING: YIELDS OF FRESH CARCASS CUTS

Journal of Food Science, 1979
ABSTRACT Accelerated pork processing, the processing of the pork carcass immediately following slaughter into primal and processed cuts, was studied under commercial packinghouse conditions using 225 market hog carcasses. The carcasses were selected at random from the slaughter operation and one side assigned to accelerated and the ...

High tolerance plasma arc cutting of commercially pure titanium

Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2005
Abstract The quality of cuts performed on titanium sheets using high tolerance plasma arc cutting (HTPAC) process was investigated under different process conditions. A 5 mm thick sheet of grade 2 commercially pure titanium was cut using several feed rates in the dross-free feed rate range and with the adoption of oxygen or nitrogen as cutting and ...

FACTORS INFLUENCING THE COMMERCIAL INCIDENCE OF DARK CUTTING BEEF

Canadian Journal of Animal Science, 1989
Data collected on 170 534 head of Saskatchewan cattle slaughtered over a period of 12 consecutive months were used to evaluate the importance of some factors influencing the incidence of dark cutting (DC) beef (Canada B2 grade based on a visual assessment of muscle color and texture).

Perceived value innovation model for commercial fresh-cut fruits

2023
The market for fresh-cut fruits (FCFs) has grown in the last 40 years due to increasing demand for products characterised with high levels of convenience, nutrient value, safety and natural taste. The commercial success of FCFs, however, is still limited because of the varied consumer value perceptions and product perishability.

Distribution of Toxoplasma gondii tissue cysts in commercial cuts of pork

Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1986
SUMMARY Distribution of Toxoplasma gondii cysts in tissues used for human consumption was studied in 4 naturally infected pigs (acquired infections) and in 2 experimentally infected pigs. On the day of euthanasia, pigs with acquired toxoplasmosis had serum antibody titers of 160 to 1,280 against T gondii (modified agglutination test).

N-nitrosodiethanolamine in commercial cutting fluids without nitrites.

The Annals of occupational hygiene, 1992
We have determined the concentration of N-nitrosodiethanolamine (NDELA) in 11 commercial 'nitrite-free' cutting fluids in Sweden in 1989. The concentrations in diluted fluids after use were 0.02-0.51 ppm. The concentrates contained 0.02-17 ppm. There was no correlation between the occurrence of formaldehyde-releasers, boramines or bacteria and the ...

Cutting parameter optimization in shoulder milling of commercially pure molybdenum

Journal of the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering, 2018
Due to its superior properties such as high melting point (2617 °C), high thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion at higher temperatures, molybdenum is a refractory metal and is used for making critical parts in defense, space, electronics and nuclear industries.

Insecticidal dips for disinfesting commercial tropical cut flowers and foliage

Tropical Pest Management, 1992
Abstract Insecticidal dips were evaluated as a postharvest treatment to eliminate insects from tropical cut flowers and foliage before shipment. Among candidate insecticides, a combination dip for at least 5 min of an insecticidal soap composed of potassium salts of fatty acids (0.98% active ingredient) with fluvalinate (0.023% active ingredient) was ...
