Three-phase transformerless multilevel converters are widely used in the high-voltage photovoltaic power generation systems because of their low total harmonic distortion, high power density, and high conversion efficiency. One three-level flying capacitor converter and dual T-type three-level circuits can be combined to derive the compact and cost ...

Common-Mode Resonance Suppression in Transformerless PWM Current-Source Drive
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2015Among high-power pulsewidth modulation (PWM) current-source motor drives, the transformerless structure using the integrated dc choke has been widely acknowledged with superior advantages. A typical challenge faced by such transformerless PWM current-source drive systems is the potential common-mode resonance excited by the common-mode voltage (CMV ...

Shielding-Cancelation Technique for Suppressing Common-Mode EMI in Isolated Power Converters
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2014In an isolated power converter, the interwinding capacitance of the transformer is the critical coupling path for the generating of common-mode (CM) noise. The shielding technique, for the purpose of blocking the electric coupling between the adjacent windings, has been widely used to deal with the CM noise.

Wideband Balanced Filters With High Selectivity and Common-Mode Suppression
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2015Modified coupled feed-lines (MCFLs) and coupled-line stubs (CLSs)/coupled-line stub-loaded resonators are proposed and applied to design wideband balanced filters to obtain high selectivity and common-mode suppression. MCFLs are implemented by loading short- and open-circuited stubs at the end of the traditional parallel-coupled feed-lines to perform ...

A Novel Common-Mode Voltage Suppression Strategy for Current Source Converter
IEEE Transactions on Industrial ElectronicsThe problem of common-mode voltage (CMV) in current source converter (CSC) has been concerned with the development and application of CSC, such as in the transformerless motor drive system. Using a common-mode (CM) choke is a popular solution to suppressing CMV. The high-frequency harmonics of the CMV can be eliminated by the CM filter.

High selectivity and common-mode suppression combline balanced BPF
Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2013In this study, new balanced microstrip bandpass filter (BPF) based on stepped-impedance combline structure is proposed with high selectivity and high common-mode (CM) suppression performance In the beginning, a single-ended compact stepped-impedance resonator (SIR) combline BPF with enhanced performance including low insertion loss, sharp skirt and ...

Critical core parameters in the design of common mode suppression chokes
1995 International Conference on Electromagnetic Interference and Compatibility (INCEMIC), 2002The effective suppression of common mode chokes does not meet up to their expectations in a great number of cases. The only explanation given in standard texts is saturation. This saturation phenomenon is studied in this paper, in particular saturation due to excessive EMI current.
