A Common-Mode Shorting Network to Reduce Common-Mode Excitation of Three-Phase Two-Level Electric Drives

open access: yesIEEE Open Access Journal of Power and Energy, 2023
Common-mode voltage and current in an electric machine are undesirable. Although the strategic placement of a common-mode inductor and dc input side capacitors may reduce the common-mode current produced by an electric drive system, the effectiveness of ...

Elimination of Common Mode Voltage in Three-To-Six-Phase Matrix Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The matrix converter (MC) is the n-phase input and m-phase output power electronic system. To synthesis the controllable sinusoidal output voltage and input current with controllable input displacement angle, the pulse width modulation method (PWM) is ...

One Cycle Control of a PWM Rectifier a New Approach

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
This paper analyzes a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) based One Cycle Control (OCC) strategy for a Power Factor Corrector (PFC) rectifier with Common-mode Voltage (CMV) immunity. It is proposed a strategy that utilizes an emulated-resistance-controller in

A 3D Reduced Common Mode Voltage PWM Algorithm for a Five-Phase Six-Leg Inverter

open access: yesMachines, 2023
Neutral point voltage control converters (NPVCC) are being considered for AC drive applications, where their additional degree of freedom can be used for different purposes, such as fault tolerance or common mode voltage (CMV) reduction.

Elimination of Common Mode Voltage in the Three-To-Nine-Phase Matrix Converter

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
A multiphase matrix converter (MC) is a direct AC/AC converter with n-phase input and m-phase output that is required to supply multiphase systems. To synthesize the controllable sinusoidal output voltage and input current with controllable displacement ...

Active cancellation of the common‐mode voltage produced by a voltage‐source PWM inverter

open access: yesElectrical Engineering in Japan, 1997
This paper proposes an “active common-mode noise canceler” that is capable of eliminating the common-mode voltage produced by a voltage-source PWM inverter. It generates a compensating voltage which has the same amplitude as, but the opposite phase to, the common-mode voltage produced by the PWM inverter. The compensating voltage is superimposed on the

Ultra-low voltage common-mode voltage detector circuit

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2008
A new common-mode voltage detector circuit to be used in the common-mode feedback loop of ultra-low voltage fully differential amplifiers is presented. The proposed circuit behaves linearly for most of the signal range and is able to operate with supply voltages as low as 0.4 V.

H8 Inverter for Common-Mode Voltage Reduction in Electric Drives [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2016
This paper presents a modified two-level three-phase inverter for the reduction of the leakage current. With respect to a traditional two-level inverter, the proposed solution reduces the common-mode voltage (CMV), both in amplitude and frequency. Between the dc source and the traditional three-phase bridge, two active dc-decoupling devices and a ...
