Individual Heterogeneity, Group Interaction, and Co-operative Behaviour: Evidence from a Common-Pool Resource Experiment in South Africa and Namibia [PDF]
We present econometric evidence on the influence of an individual’s sociodemographic characteristics, economic background, and dynamic personal and group interactions on co-operative behaviour in a social dilemma situation.

Bufalin Inhibits the PI3K/AKT Pathway by Targeting GTF3C4 to Impede Breast Cancer Progression
Mechanisms of Bufalin‐Mediated Intervention in Breast Cancer. ABSTRACT Breast cancer incidence is rising globally, presenting challenges such as treatment side effects and drug resistance. Bufalin is a bufadienolides compound with potential anti‐cancer effects. This study shows that bufalin inhibits malignant proliferation of MDA‐MB‐231 and MCF‐7 cells

Regulation and Deregulation: Property Rights Allocation Issues in De Regulation of Common Pool Resources [PDF]
Rights-based institutions have been adopted for certain natural resources in order to more effectively mitigate the losses of the common pool. Past central government (command and control) regulation has not proved satisfactory.

PDAC has a poor prognosis due to chemoresistance. We revealed that MCU upregulation is associated with chemoresistance and stemness in PDAC. MCU‐mediated Ca2+ influx induced ER stress, activating the PERK‐ATF4/NRF2 axis to enhance PSAT1/SLC711 expression and glutathione synthesis, reducing ROS and maintaining stemness.

Completing Ostrom's table: A note on the taxonomy of goods [PDF]
A framework is proposed to subsume public goods and common-pool resources, respectively, as specific cases of positive and negative externalities. A pure public good is a positive externality whose appropriable benefits are too small or too uncertain ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

A methodology for building agent-base simulations of common-pool resources management : from a conceptual model designed with UML to its implementation in CORMAS [PDF]
Since 1995, our team has been developing a simulation platform called CORMAS (common-pool resources and multi-agent systems). It provides facilities to build and analyze agent-based models (ABMs) that represent ecosystems where various human activities ...

This study reveals that Urolithin A (UA) counteracts alcohol‐induced cognitive and social dysfunction (AICSD) via a gut microbiome‐dependent mechanism. UA‐enriched Bacteroids sartorii and Parabacteroids distasonis elevate anandamide (AEA), which activates the CB1R‐DRD2‐Rap1 signaling cascade to drive synaptic repair and reduce neuroinflammation ...

Miejskość dóbr wspólnych. Refleksje nad adaptowaniem koncepcji Common-Pool Resources [PDF]
