Exploring the influence of lactoferrin on wound healing and related signaling pathways: a systematic review

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Lactoferrin promotes wound healing by activating MAPK, PI3K/Akt, and extracellular matrix pathways, enhancing fibroblast remodeling, proliferation, and re‐epithelialization. These mechanisms highlight its therapeutic potential in inflammation control, tissue repair, and remodeling.

Common due date assignment for scheduling on a single machine with jointly reducible processing times

open access: yes, 2001
Biskup D, Jahnke H. Common due date assignment for scheduling on a single machine with jointly reducible processing times. International Journal of Production Economics. 2001;69(3):317-322.This paper focuses on analyzing the problem of assigning a common

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Comparative assessment of crystallographic and cryo‐EM models in the Protein Data Bank

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Raw data obtained by X‐ray crystallography or cryo‐EM result in experimental maps, ultimately fitted by atomic models. Although the physical principles are different, the final results can be viewed, compared, and evaluated in the same way. With cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) on track to surpass X‐ray crystallography as the preferred method ...

Single Machine Common Due Date Scheduling Problems Using Neural Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This paper presents an approach for scheduling under a common due date on static single machine problem based on artificial neural network. The objective is to sequence the jobs on the machine so that the total cost be minimized. This cost is composed of

Minimizing weighted earliness-tardiness on a single machine with a common due date using quadratic models

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we study the problem of minimizing weighted earliness and tardiness on a single machine when all the jobs share the same due date. We propose two quadratic integer programming models for solving both cases of unrestricted and restricted due

A minimal cellulosome‐like system in Cellulosilyticum lentocellum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cellulose‐degrading bacteria typically use cellulosomes, large multi‐enzyme complexes on a scaffold protein. In Cellulosilyticum lentocellum, we characterise a far smaller arrangement, a single scaffold bound to one cellulase through a single cohesin‐dockerin interaction.

Minimizing weighted number of tardy jobs and weighted earliness-tardiness penalties about a common due date

open access: yes, 1991
We consider the n-job, non-preemptive, single-machine scheduling problem of minimizing the weighted sum of tardy jobs and earliness-tardiness penalties about a common due date. We study the case of job-dependent penalties under a certain condition on the

The C‐terminal domain of yeast Arginyltransferase1 is essential for its catalytic activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Arginyltransferase 1 (Ate1), a eukaryotic enzyme, catalyses arginylation, transferring arginine from tRNA‐Arg to the amino terminus of the target protein. Overexpression of Ate1 in yeast is lethal and is dependent on arginylation. This study elucidates how mutations in the cofactor‐binding and active site of Ate1 and truncation of its structural ...

A Low Psoas Muscle Index Was Associated With a Poorer Overall Survival in Patients Who Underwent Percutaneous Nephrostomy

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
In patients with malignant ureteral obstruction undergoing percutaneous nephrostomy, sarcopenia defined by a low psoas muscle index was independently associated with poor overall survival on multivariate Cox regression analysis, suggesting that preoperative assessment of psoas muscle index may aid prognostic stratification in this population.
