Weak Contractions, Common Fixed Points, and Invariant Approximations
The existence of common fixed points is established for the mappings, where is -weak contraction on a nonempty subset of a Banach space. As application, some results on the invariant best approximation are proved.

Common fixed points and convergence results for α-Krasnosel'skii mappings
We present convergence and common fixed point conclusions of the Krasnosel'skii iteration which is one of the iterative methods associated with α-Krasnosel'skii mappings satisfying condition (E).

General Common Fixed Point Theorems and Applications [PDF]
The main result is a common fixed point theorem for a pair of multivalued maps on a complete metric space extending a recent result of Đorić and Lazović (2011) for a multivalued map on a metric space satisfying Ćirić‐Suzuki‐type‐generalized contraction.

Compatible mappings and common fixed points (2)
A common fixed point theorem of S.L. and S.P. Singh is generalized by weakening commutativity hypotheses and by increasing the number of functions involved.

Common Fixed Points for Suzuki-Generalized Nonexpansive Maps
A common fixed point theorem for a pair of maps satisfying condition (C) is proved under certain conditions. We extend the well-knownDeMarr's fixed point theorem to the case of noncommuting family of maps satisfying condition (C).

On Multistep Iterative Scheme for Approximating the Common Fixed Points of Contractive-Like Operators [PDF]
We introduce the Jungck-multistep iteration and show that it converges strongly to the unique common fixed point of a pair of weakly compatible generalized contractive-like operators defined on a Banach space.

Common fixed points for family of mappings
The main aim of the present paper is to prove the existence of common fixed points for mappings which are not necessarily continuous. Our results, which are primarly motivated by investigation of Husain and Sehgal (Bull. Austral. Math. Soc.

A note on strong convergence to common fixed points of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to investigate the links between ${\cal T}_C$-class algorithms, CQ Algorithm and shrinking projection methods. We show that strong convergence of these algorithms are related to coherent ${\cal T}_C$-class sequences of mapping ...

Common fixed points for semigroups of mappings [PDF]
Let X be a compact convex subset of a strictly convex Banach space. Let S be a Hausdorff topological semigroup which is either left amenable or left reversible. Then for any generalised nonexpansive (jointly) continuous action of S on X, X contains a common fixed point of S.

Sickle Cell Disease Is an Inherent Risk for Asthma in a Sibling Comparison Study
ABSTRACT Introduction Sickle cell disease (SCD) and asthma share a complex relationship. Although estimates vary, asthma prevalence in children with SCD is believed to be comparable to or higher than the general population. Determining whether SCD confers an increased risk for asthma remains challenging due to overlapping symptoms and the ...
