Seatbelt Injury to the Common Iliac Artery: Case Report
Journal of Forensic Sciences, 1998Abstract In traffic accident victims, the seat belt syndrome is a well known injury which rarely involves the common iliac artery due to its posterior anatomical position and to protection by the pelvis. We report a case of blunt abdominal trauma related to the type of seat belt worn.

Iliac artery aneurysma: a common cause of ureteral obstruction
Pain, 1975Iliac artery aneurysms may cause ureteral obstruction. Six cases are reported. The major symptom is renal colic but a palpable aneurysm and a bruit may be found preoperatively and urinalysis may reveal microhematuria. On x-ray the ureter may be deviated medially, anteriorly or laterally. The ureter is bound down in a dense, desmoplastic reaction.
