Mitigation of scintillation noise by common mode rejection
SPIE Proceedings, 2005There is increasing interest in free space optical communications as an alternative to fibre optics and radio frequency communications, particularly in 'last mile' applications and applications with weight and power restrictions e.g. communications with unmanned aerial vehicles.

Common-mode rejection of monolithic operational amplifiers
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1970A simple expression is derived for the common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of monolithic operational amplifiers in terms of transistor processing parameters. The tradeoffs between transistor current gain and CMRR are investigated. The feasibility of 120-dB CMRR is demonstrated with a common-emitter differential pair. The addition of eight active devices

Differential image sensor with high common mode rejection
Proceedings of the 31st European Solid-State Circuits Conference, 2005. ESSCIRC 2005., 2005Image processing applications like tracking of moving objects typically involve the subtraction of two successive images. Doing this without the need for a large digital memory requires a sensor chip that does the subtraction in the analog domain. This paper provides insight in the critical issues of the design of such a differential image sensor.

Differential amplifiers that reject common-mode currents
IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 1971The transistor differential pair is analyzed and it is shown that the common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) is limited both in magnitude and bandwidth by device parameters. The performance is not significantly improved by series common-mode feedback. It is shown that amplifiers with shunt common-mode feedback reject common-mode input currents and that ...

Research on Common-Mode Rejection Quartz Crystal Resonators
2007 International Conference on Information Acquisition, 2007The force sensitive characteristic of multi-resonator assembled on one crystal are studied based on analyze of the force sensitive characteristic of AT-cut quartz crystal resonators and the interior vibration wave transmission in crystal. According to the common-mode rejection theory, the resonance frequency of resonators on different places is ...

Finite Common-Mode Rejection in Fully Differential Nonlinear Circuits
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2011In this brief, it is highlighted that fully differential nonlinear circuits, even though perfectly symmetrical, can be significantly sensitive to common-mode (CM)/power-supply (PS) interference and can be affected by even-order distortion. The cross-modulation mechanism between CM and differential input components, which gives rise to such unwanted ...

Next Generation Measurement Systems with High Common-Mode Rejection
2018 IEEE 19th Workshop on Control and Modeling for Power Electronics (COMPEL), 2018There is an increasing importance for floating measurements with high bandwidth in the field of power electronics, driven by the need to characterize power converters utilizing latest wide bandgap devices which offer very fast voltage transitions. In this paper, the required Common-Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) as the most important performance metric of

Achieving wide-band common-mode rejection in differential amplifiers
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1970A design method is presented for achieving wide-band common-mode rejection (CMR) in discrete or integrated differential amplifiers. The method, which is supported by experiment, shows that there is an optimum (noninfinite) value for the tail impedance, and that infinite rejection can be achieved at any frequency even in the asymmetrical case.

Differentially tunable varactor with built-in common-mode rejection
The 2002 45th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002. MWSCAS-2002., 2003A differentially tunable MOS varactor with enhanced intrinsic common-mode noise rejection is proposed and analyzed. Using a complementary topology the C-V characteristics of two MOSFETs are arranged to sum under differential excitation and to roughly cancel under common-mode excitation.

An APF-OCC Strategy for Common-Mode Current Rejection
IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications, 2016This paper proposes a DSP-based one-cycle control (OCC) strategy for a shunt active power filter (APF), which is able to reject common-mode currents caused by common-mode voltages. The proposed strategy is based on an OCC rectifier control, which utilizes an input resistance control to set up dc-link voltage and achieve a unity power factor as well as ...
