Experimental Investigation of the Evolution of Gaussian Quantum Discord in an Open System [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Gaussian quantum discord is a measure of quantum correlations in Gaussian systems. Using Gaussian discord we quantify the quantum correlations of a bipartite entangled state and a separable two-mode mixture of coherent states.

Differential amplifier with very high common-mode-rejection ratio

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1967
A long-tailed-pair amplifier is described which, uses both bipolar and field-effect transistors and has a d.c. common-mode-rejection ratio of about 150dB.

Halide‐Dependent Photoluminescence and Heavy‐Atom Effects in Low‐Melting Organic–Inorganic Manganese Halides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two pyridinium‐based ionic liquid templated hybrid manganese halides, (C4Py)2[MnCl4] and (C4Py)2[MnBr4], display similar bulk structures but show significantly different photoluminescence behaviors due to the bromine heavy‐atom effect. Their stable local Mn environments remain intact even in the molten state, allowing applications such as luminescence ...

Algorithmic Design of Disordered Networks With Arbitrary Coordination: Application to Biophotonics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Predictive Design of Disordered Networks: Disordered network‐like morphologies are abundant in nature, from cytoskeletal networks to bone structures and chalcogenide glasses. These structures are naturally hard to characterize. A new algorithmic tool extends the established Wooten–Weaire–Winer (WWW) algorithm to valencies above 4.

Investigation into the common mode rejection ratio of the physiological signal conditioner circuit [PDF]

open access: yes
The common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of the single operational amplifier (op amp) differential amplifier and of the three operational amplifier differential amplifier was investigated.

Design of a fractional control using performance contours. Application to an electromechanical system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The article proposes a frequency-based method to design a controller ensuring dynamic behavior of a closed-loop control: the first overshoot of the step response in the tracking mode or in the regulation mode, the damping ratio and the natural frequency ...

Studying stellar binary systems with the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna using Delayed Rejection Markov chain Monte Carlo methods

open access: yes, 2009
Bayesian analysis of LISA data sets based on Markov chain Monte Carlo methods has been shown to be a challenging problem, in part due to the complicated structure of the likelihood function consisting of several isolated local maxima that dramatically ...

Tissue‐Stimulator Platform for Electrically Stimulating Pancreatic β‐Cells for Long‐Term Functional Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.
