High voltage buck converter topology for common mode voltage reduction
APEC '98 Thirteenth Annual Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2002A new DC buck power converter topology to actively reduce common mode voltage applied to the load is presented in this paper. The supply is designed to interface universal input DC-DC power supplies to a rectified 480 VAC (700 VDC) bus. By minimizing the common mode voltage produced, the size and cost of the passive filter elements can be significantly

1999 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (IEEE Cat. No.99EX147), 2003
The noise mode conversion on the balanced line from the common-mode to the normal-mode was investigated. Two simple parallel traces with the injected common-mode voltage were considered for the mode conversion. The normal-mode voltage converted was calculated from the eight terminals circuit theory.

Common-mode voltage reduction PWM algorithm for AC drives
2009 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2009The impact of common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by pulsewidth modulation (PWM) ac drives on motor bearings is well known. Several algorithms for CMV reduction have been proposed in the literature. While a few algorithms assume ideal switching and fall apart when nonidealities like inverter dead time are considered, some others are effective only in a

Common mode voltage in DTC drives using matrix converters
2008 15th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2008The paper analyzes the common mode voltage at the output of matrix converters. Based on the theoretical analysis, an approach to reduce the common mode voltage for direct torque control drives using matrix converter is then proposed. The proposed method can be easily implemented without increasing computational requirements and it has been shown to ...

Reduction of Interference Due to Common Mode Voltage in Biopotential Amplifiers
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1983We review how the nonideal properties of biopotential amplifiers can transform common mode voltage into interference. We then review several design approaches for two-and three-electrode amplifiers, both nonisolated and isolated, that reduce this interference.

Control of high common mode voltage during transthoracic defibrillation
IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 1995A high common mode voltage (Vcm) relative to earth ground is produced on the myocardium during the delivery of a defibrillator pulse and can generate a differential error signal when potential gradients are recorded with bipolar electrodes and isolation amplifiers.

In previous work, the authors proposed an active common-mode filter (ACF) that is able to reduce the radiated noise from power cables connected to power converters and evaluated its radiated noise reduction effect by using an oscillator as a common-mode (CM) noise source. In this paper, this ACF is applied to a motor drive system fed by a PWM inverter,

Common mode stability in fully differential voltage feedback CMOS amplifiers
10th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems, 2003. ICECS 2003. Proceedings of the 2003, 2004In this study consideration is made of the common mode (CM) behavior of two-stage fully differential amplifiers in voltage feedback (FB) connection. In particular, the interaction between internal CMFB circuitry and the external feedback network is investigated in order to highlight a possible operating point instability condition, due to the presence ...

A low voltage differential op amp with novel common mode feedback
1998 IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems. Surfing the Waves of Science and Technology (Cat. No.98EX196), 2002A new low voltage differential amplifier featuring a novel common mode feedback structure (CMFB) is presented. It provides rail-to-rail common and differential mode input range by the use of a nMOS depletion input pair transistors that can easily be processed in standard CMOS technologies.
