A data‐driven supply‐side approach for estimating cross‐border Internet purchases within the European Union

open access: yesJournal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A (Statistics in Society), Volume 183, Issue 1, Page 61-90, January 2020., 2020
Summary The digital economy is a highly relevant item on the European Union's policy agenda. We focus on cross‐border Internet purchases, as part of the digital economy, the total value of which cannot be accurately estimated by using existing consumer survey approaches. In fact, they lead to a serious underestimation.

Decarbonization types of medium‐sized and mid‐cap firms in the manufacturing sector

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 33, Issue 8, Page 8833-8850, December 2024.

open access: yesEuropean Law Journal, Volume 30, Issue 3, Page 284-328, September 2024.
Abstract The article argues that the ever‐closer Union among peoples of Europe finds itself at a critical juncture: the unstated and implicit assumption of a community made up of liberal democracies is being challenged and pitted against the rival rebirth of the nationalistic narrative of uniqueness and self‐sufficiency.

Gravity trade model with firm heterogeneity and horizontal foreign direct investment

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, Volume 106, Issue 1, Page 206-225, January 2024.
Abstract We develop a gravity trade model based on a theoretical analysis of heterogeneous firms that engage in horizontal Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) or exporting. The model allows firms' endogenous choice between exporting or FDI to impact the proportion of exporting firms and subsequently bilateral trade.
