Current Frame Priors Assisted Neural Network for Intra Prediction
Intra prediction is the key technology to reduce spatial redundancy in the modern video coding standard. Recently, deep learning based methods that directly generate the intra prediction by neural network achieve superior performance than traditional ...

Critical load and congestion instabilities in scale-free networks [PDF]
We study the tolerance to congestion failures in communication networks with scale-free topology. The traffic load carried by each damaged element in the network must be partly or totally redistributed among the remaining elements.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

SSCM: An Unambiguous Acquisition Algorithm for CBOC Modulated Signal
Composite binary offset carrier (CBOC) signal has been widely researched in GNSS. The main ingredient of CBOC signal is BOC(1,1) signal. Usually, the acquisition method for BOC(1,1) signal is used to capture CBOC signal, while the research of special ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Quantum-capacity bounds in spin-network communication channels
Using the Lieb-Robinson inequality and the continuity property of the quantum capacities in terms of the diamond norm, we derive an upper bound on the values that these capacities can attain in spin-network communication i.i.d.
