Tunable‐Wavelength Broadband Liquid‐State Carbon‐Quantum‐Dot Lasers

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work provides a gain‐induced waveguide structure to achieve programmable mode spacing by coupling liquid‐state lasing of carbon quantum dots to a vertically placed aluminum mirror, enabling an unprecedented transition from random lasing to multimode lasing without cumbersome micromanufacturing, even single‐mode lasing at a wide range from 641 to ...

Optical Properties of Thin Films of Tin Iodide Perovskite Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A comprehensive spectroscopic study of thin films of 3D CsSnI3 nanocrystals (NCs) that coexist with residual 2D Ruddlesden‐Popper nanosheets (NSs) has been performed. Polymer encapsulation enables solid‐state stabilization of the tin iodide perovskite nanostructures, while insight into the energetics and dynamics of the NC and NS excitons is provided ...

Tunneling in Persistent Luminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Key experimental criteria are provided for the occurrence of thermal/athermal tunneling and localized transitions. Many experimental studies of PersL have assigned tunneling on the basis of the linear relationship of PersL decay between intensity, I, and time, t−k, where k is a constant or I−1 versus t.

A Switchable and Rotatable Chiral Nematic Liquid Crystal Diffraction Grating for Beam‐Steering Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A switchable and rotatable chiral nematic liquid crystal diffraction grating is demonstrated, driven by low voltages at room temperature. Incorporation of the dimer CB7CB induces an asymmetric tilt via the flexoelectro‐optic effect, generating torque that enables uniform 360° in‐plane rotation of both the grating and its far‐field diffraction pattern ...

BP/MoS₂ Van Der Waals Heterojunctions for Self‐Powered Photoconduction

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A multilayer black phosphorus (BP)/monolayer MoS₂ vertical heterostructure is investigated using four‐probe measurements. The device exhibits rectifying behavior, dominant n‐type transport, low contact resistance, and an interface barrier of 68 meV.
