Asymmetric shape of distal phalanx of human finger improves precision grasping

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
In morphology field, the functions of an asymmetric-shaped distal phalanx in human finger have only been inferred. In this study, we used an engineering approach to empirically examine the effects of the shape of distal phalanx on the ability of ...

Similarity Classes in the Eight-Tetrahedron Longest-Edge Partition of a Regular Tetrahedron

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
A tetrahedron is called regular if its six edges are of equal length. It is clear that, for an initial regular tetrahedron R0, the iterative eight-tetrahedron longest-edge partition (8T-LE) of R0 produces an infinity sequence of tetrahedral meshes, τ0 ...

Communicating Reaction Systems with Direct Communication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We introduce and examine two variants of networks of reaction systems, called communicating reaction systems with direct communication, where the reaction systems send products or reactions to each other. We show that these types of networks of reaction systems can be obtained by simple mappings from single reaction systems.
