This paper is focused on community-based crowdsourcing applications, i.e. the ability of spawning crowdsourcing tasks upon multiple communities of performers, thus leveraging the peculiar characteristics and capabilities of the community members. We show that dynamic adaptation of crowdsourcing campaigns to community behaviour is particularly relevant.

Community-Based Service Discovery
2006 IEEE International Conference on Web Services (ICWS'06), 2006This paper presents a novel approach to expedite a service discovery process. Since current service discovery approaches do not assume any preprocessing when service providers publish services into a service registry, service composition occurs at discovery time. Also, easily reusing a composed service for future discovery has not been considered.

COMMUNITY-BASED VIOLENCE AWARENESS
Issues in Mental Health Nursing, 2007Violence against women is a major influence on women's mental health. We used popular education techniques to train 14 Spanish-speaking women as promotoras (community health workers) to increase awareness about violence against women in low income Texas communities. These women then conducted over 80 presentations in Spanish in local community settings.
