Atmosphere-ocean laser communication channel simulation and modeling

2009 ISECS International Colloquium on Computing, Communication, Control, and Management, 2009
The method of Monte Carlo simulation based on related theoretical analysis is presented for modeling the atmosphere-ocean laser communication channel. The optical characteristics when laser traverses through atmosphere are addressed by taking molecules and aerosol into consideration respectively.

The Formulation and Atmospheric Simulation of the Community Atmosphere Model Version 3 (CAM3)

Journal of Climate, 2006
Abstract A new version of the Community Atmosphere Model (CAM) has been developed and released to the climate community. CAM Version 3 (CAM3) is an atmospheric general circulation model that includes the Community Land Model (CLM3), an optional slab ocean model, and a thermodynamic sea ice model.

Atmospheric semidiurnal lunar tide climatology simulated by the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 2012
The atmospheric semidiurnal lunar tide is added to the Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model (WACCM) through inclusion of an additional forcing mechanism. The simulated climatology of the semidiurnal lunar tide in surface pressure and zonal and meridional winds in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere (MLT) is presented.

Modeling the atmosphere as an unguided optical communications channel

IEEE International Conference on Communications, World Prosperity Through Communications, 2003
The authors propose a system-level model for simulating the Earth's atmosphere as an unguided optical communications channel. The major degradations in received optical intensity introduced by the atmosphere are scintillation, beam spreading, beam wander, and atmospheric transmissivity.

UV NLOS Communications Atmospheric Channel Model and Its Performance Analysis

2009 WRI World Congress on Computer Science and Information Engineering, 2009
The free-space ultraviolet Non-Line-Of-Sight communication system has become a hot research topic in the field of wireless communication system for its safety and efficiency. To study the feature of UVNLOS communication system, according to the classic Mie scattering theory, the single-scattering atmospheric channel model and the multi-scattering ...
