Special Education Research, 2005본 연구는 1990년부터 현재까지 이루어진 의사소통 문제를 가진 중도 장애아동의 지원에 대한 연구 중 가족의 능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 부모 교육이나 가정에서의 의사소통교육의 효과에 대한 연구들을 고찰하였다. 연구의 목적은 의사소통 장애아동의 가족을 지원하기 위한 프로그램에 포함될 요소를 고찰하는데 있다. 아동의 의사소통 문제는 어머니를 포함한 가족 구성원 모두의 생활과 연관되어 가족 전체의 삶 속에서 어머니 뿐 아니라 가족 전체의 구성원들에게 어려움을 주게 된다.
