Medical Care, 1975Community pharmacists, by virtue of their location, are thought to be among the most accessible health care workers in the delivery system. To estimate the importance of this assertion it is necessary to understand the communication habits of pharmacists, especially their interactions with patients.

PPIs: Community Pharmacists' Compliance
Drug Intelligence & Clinical Pharmacy, 1981In order to determine community pharmacists' compliance with FDA PPI regulations, five trained shoppers were sent with estrogen prescriptions to 45 pharmacies in a large Midwestern city. Only 42 percent of the prescriptions dispensed were accompanied by a PPI. Fifty-six percent of the prescriptions were dispensed without safety caps.
