A Calculation Method of Pseudo Extinction Angle for Commutation Failure Mitigation in HVDC

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019
This letter presents a novel pseudo extinction angle (PEA) for the HVDC inverter, as well as its calculation method. The proposed PEA extends the measured extinction angle (EA) into a real-time calculated value.

On Commutativity and Strong Commutativity-Preserving Maps

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1994
AbstractIf R is a ring and S ⊆ R, a mapping f:R —> R is called strong commutativity- preserving (scp) on S if [x, y] = [f(x),f(y)] for all x,y € S. We investigate commutativity in prime and semiprime rings admitting a derivation or an endomorphism which is scp on a nonzero right ideal.

A Fault Current Limiting Approach for Commutation Failure Prevention in LCC-HVDC Transmission Systems

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019
Commutation failure is one of the most frequent failures in line-commutated converter based high-voltage direct-current (LCC-HVdc) systems which may lead to the outage of HVdc links, and thus affect the performance of the power system.

Commutator equations

International Journal of Algebra and Computation
In this paper, we investigate properties of varieties of algebras described by a novel concept of equation that we call commutator equation. A commutator equation is a relaxation of the standard term equality obtained substituting the equality relation with the commutator relation.

Quantum Circuit Compilers Using Gate Commutation Rules

Asia and South Pacific Design Automation Conference, 2019
The use of noisy intermediate-scale quantum computers (NISQCs), which consist of dozens of noisy qubits with limited coupling constraints, has been increasing.

Sensorless BLDC Motor Commutation Point Detection and Phase Deviation Correction Method

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
Phase-to-neutral voltage or neutral-to-virtual neutral voltage zero-crossing points (ZCPs) detection method is usually used for sensorless brushless dc motor commutation control. Unfortunately, neither of them can be realized in lower speed range.

Commutator design for commutator fusing

1973 EIC 11th Electrical Insulation Conference, 1973
One of the biggest problems encountered in the production of universal or D.C. electric motors has been the method and practice of joining the armature's coil wires to the commutator. For years most manufactuers either soft soldered or brazed the coil wires to the commutator.
