Benefit‐sharing with human participants in health research in South Africa: A call for clarity
Abstract This study critically examines the concept of benefit‐sharing in the context of health research involving human participants in South Africa, identifying a significant gap in the precision and application of terminology. It introduces a new terminological framework designed to provide clarity and facilitate standardisation in both national and

Commutator estimates on contact manifolds and applications
This article studies sharp norm estimates for the commutator of pseudo-differential operators with multiplication operators on closed Heisenberg manifolds.

Abstract Electroencephalography (EEG) has been instrumental in epilepsy research for the past century, both for basic and translational studies. Its contributions have advanced our understanding of epilepsy, shedding light on the pathophysiology and functional organization of epileptic networks, and the mechanisms underlying seizures.

Commutative ring spectra [PDF]
In this survey paper on commutative ring spectra we present some basic features of commutative ring spectra and discuss model category structures. As a first interesting class of examples of such ring spectra we focus on (commutative) algebra spectra over commutative Eilenberg-MacLane ring spectra.

AbstractWe extend the notion of partial commutation by introducing that of semi-commutation which is its non-symetrical version. A semi-commutation function f is associated to a semi-Thue system 〈X, P〉 where the rules are of the form yx → xy with x, y ϵ X. We study this operation in connection with rational operations.

Spanning Multi‐Asset Payoffs With ReLUs
ABSTRACT We propose a distributional formulation of the spanning problem of a multi‐asset payoff by vanilla basket options. This problem is shown to have a unique solution if and only if the payoff function is even and absolutely homogeneous, and we establish a Fourier‐based formula to calculate the solution.

Where Mathematical Symbols Come From
Abstract There is a sense in which the symbols used in mathematical expressions and formulas are arbitrary. After all, arithmetic would be no different if we would replace the symbols ‘+$+$’ or ‘8’ by different symbols. Nevertheless, the shape of many mathematical symbols is in fact well motivated in practice.
