Commuting Time and Happiness in Seoul

open access: yesJournal of Korea Planning Association, 2017
Commuting is essential for our lives, but sometimes it demands a lot of our valuable time. This study aims to explore the relationship between commuting time and commuters" happiness. To do so, we first discuss a theoretical framework for the relationship between commuting and "subjective well-being" based on the urban economic theory.

A partial envelope approach for modelling multivariate spatial‐temporal data

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract In the new era of big data, modelling multivariate spatial‐temporal data is a challenging task due to both the high dimensionality of the features and complex associations among the responses across different locations and time points.

People’s preferences for commuting in sparsely populated areas: The case of Sweden

open access: yesJournal of Transport and Land Use, 2010
In a time of decreased inclination to migrate and an increased place attachment, increasing commuting can improve the functionality of local labor markets.

Stability of Viscous Three‐Dimensional Stratified Couette Flow via Dispersion and Mixing

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article explores the stability of stratified Couette flow in the viscous 3d$3d$ Boussinesq equations. In this system, mixing effects arise from the shearing background, and gravity acts as a restoring force leading to dispersive internal gravity waves.

Commute-Time-Optimised Graphs for GNNs

open access: yesCoRR
We explore graph rewiring methods that optimise commute time. Recent graph rewiring approaches facilitate long-range interactions in sparse graphs, making such rewirings commute-time-optimal on average. However, when an expert prior exists on which node pairs should or should not interact, a superior rewiring would favour short commute times between ...

Compact Manifolds With Unbounded Nilpotent Fundamental Groups and Positive Ricci Curvature

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT It follows from the work of Kapovitch and Wilking that a closed manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature has a uniformly almost nilpotent fundamental group. Leftover questions and conjectures, have asked if in this context the fundamental group is actually uniformly almost abelian. The main goal of this work is to construct examples (Mk9,gk)$(

Scope 3 Carbon Emissions Assessment for Manufacturing SMEs

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper addresses the challenges facing managers of Small‐ and Medium‐Size Enterprises (SMEs) when conducting environmental sustainability assessment at the value chain level, particularly Scope 3 Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions. The paper investigates issues related to data availability and data quality for Scope 3 assessment and ...

Generational differences in patterns of physical activities over time in the Canadian population: an age-period-cohort analysis

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2018
Background Using longitudinal panel data, the aim of this study was to examine the contribution of age, period, and cohort effects on changes in physical activity over time in a population-based sample of Canadians.
