Cardiovascular Disease Meets Cancer: Exploring the Epidemiology in China and Homotherapy Targeting Intersectional Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cancer are leading causes of death worldwide, with overlapping risk factors and pathophysiological mechanisms. This review explores shared pathways, including metabolic dysregulation, chronic inflammation, and gut microbiome alterations, highlighting dual‐benefit strategies such as lifestyle modifications and repurposed

Leptin Aggravates Thoracic Aortic Dissection Through Impairment of Energy Metabolism in Nrip2+ Smooth Muscle Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Epidemiological data confirm obesity elevates thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) risk. Patient analyses implicate hyperleptinemia, where leptin binding to vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) receptors triggers Socs3‐mediated suppression of Stat5a transcriptional activity.

The Interplay between the Gut and Ketogenic Diets in Health and Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes current knowledge on the interaction between ketogenic diets and the gut, covering gut physiology, intestinal immunity, and the gut microbiome. It explores innovative methods for tailoring the diet to maximize benefits while reducing side effects. Emphasis is placed on gut‐mediated mechanisms as a critical interface between diet

A Longitudinal Study Reveals Metabolomic Markers for Individuals at Risk, Disease Severity, and Treatment Response in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates plasma metabolomic biomarkers for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) development using longitudinal data from 209 RA patients and 56 individuals at risk. It also reveals metabolic signatures linked to severity, age, sex, and anti‐citrullinated protein autoantibody in RA.

Arginine Metabolic Disruption Impairs Hair Regeneration via ROS‐Mediated Inactivation of mTOR Signaling in Androgenetic Alopecia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Arginine deficiency accelerates androgenetic alopecia. Serum metabolome shows reduced circulating arginine, while local metabolic disruption depletes follicular reserves, triggering reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mTOR suppression that induce hair miniaturization.
