In 1993, Broué, Malle and Michel initiated the study of spetses on the Greek island bearing the same name. These are mysterious objects attached to non-real Weyl groups. In algebraic topology, a $p$-compact group $\mathbf{X}$ is a space which is a homotopy-theoretic $p$-local analogue of a compact Lie group.

ACTIVITY IN GALACTIC NUCLEI OF COMPACT GROUP GALAXIES IN THE LOCAL UNIVERSE [PDF]
We study the nuclear activity of galaxies in local compact groups. We use a spectroscopic sample of 238 galaxies in 58 compact groups from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey data release 7 to estimate the fraction of active galactic nucleus (AGN) host galaxies

The nub of an automorphism of a totally disconnected, locally compact group [PDF]
To any automorphism, $\alpha $, of a totally disconnected, locally compact group, $G$, there is associated a compact, $\alpha $-stable subgroup of $G$, here called the nub of $\alpha $, on which the action of $\alpha $ is ergodic.

Very compact UWB antenna with group delay improvement [PDF]
In this paper, very compact (12mm×17mm) and simple UWB antenna is proposed. The achieved bandwidth of the presented antenna is from 3.05 GHz to 12.5 GHz and in the most of the bandwidth, the return loss is less than -20dB.

Compact Groups of Galaxies selected by stellar mass: The 2MASS Compact Group Catalogue [PDF]
We present a photometric catalogue of compact groups of galaxies (p2MCGs) automatically extracted from the Two-Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) extended source catalogue.

The probability that x and y commute in a compact group [PDF]
We show that a compact group G has finite conjugacy classes, i.e., is an FC-group if and only if its center Z(G) is open if and only if its commutator subgroup G′ is finite. Let d(G) denote the Haar measure of the set of all pairs (x,y) in G×G for which [

A new microstrip triplexer with a compact size of $0.007~\lambda _{\mathrm {g}}^{2}$ is proposed in this work, where designing a microstrip triplexer with a size less than $0.01~\lambda _{\mathrm {g}}^{2}$ is a big challenge.

About Nilpotent Profinite Groups Largely Satisfying a Word Equation [PDF]
We show that in a nilpotent profinite group, the set of answers of a word equation has nonempty interior, provided that this set has a positive Haar measure.

Compact Groups Of Galaxies [PDF]
This paper reviews some of the outstanding questions concerning compact groups of galaxies. These relate to the physical nature and dynamical status of the groups, their formation and evolution, and their role in galaxy evolution. The picture that emerges is that compact groups are generally physically dense systems, although often contaminated by ...
