Pore sizes and strength of compacted clay

International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1974
Pore size distributions, compaction characteristics, and undrained strength and deformation data were related in tests to molding water content and type of laboratory compaction. The soil used was the commercially available illite clay called Grundite. Pore size distribution measurements, carried out by mercury porosimetry, require dry samples. Removal

Development of compact size penning ion source for compact neutron generator

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2008
For long-life operation, easy to mount and compact in size penning type ion sources are widely used in different fields of research such as neutron generators, material research, and surface etching. One penning type ion source has been developed in our laboratory.

POSTER: Variable Sized Cache-Block Compaction

2019 28th International Conference on Parallel Architectures and Compilation Techniques (PACT), 2019
Data blocks compressed to different sizes can be stored together inside a single cache-block to increase space utilization. However, the lack of a common size offset makes it challenging to locate individual blocks without additional tag overhead. We propose Variable Sized Cache-Block Compaction (VSCC) that allows us to store variable sized compressed ...

A compacting technologies for small size personal facsimile

IEEE 1992 International Conference on Consumer Electronics Digest of Technical Papers, 1992
A small sized facsimile machine with a high picture quality and with good gray-level image processing capabilities was developed. This facsimile machine contains a compact mechanism with one major and two rollers, and a single chip system control LSI including 2-kB memory.

Compact size wideband antenna

2009 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, 2009
A novel planar antenna is proposed. This antenna has simple structure, compact size and wideband impedance matching performance. This newly proposed structure is fabricated and measured. It is shown that return loss of the antenna is better than −10 dB over 3.0 GHz to 9.0 GHz. The radiation pattern is good at the frequency band.

Compact-size coplanar waveguide bandpass filter

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2003
A compact-size coplanar waveguide (CPW) bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed. In this study, we use the bended stub with novel folded skill to improve the three parallel coupled-lines structure of BPF for N = 1. It gets the sharp transition band (TB) and reduces the dimension of the circuit by 66.67% at 2.45 GHz. Its center frequency can be shifted easily

Size effects in powder compaction

Journal of Materials Research, 2001
It is well known that great difficulties are encountered in the cold compaction of ultrafine powders. Such difficulties have been qualitatively attributed to several origins (e.g., increasing relative contribution of oxidized layers to particle resistance as particle size decreases). The main densification stage during compaction is governed by plastic

Compact-sized excimer laser with two-sides preionization

2011 11th International Conference on Laser and Fiber-Optical Networks Modeling (LFNM), 2011
Compact-sized monopulse excimer laser with foot-print equal to only 250×80 mm2, total height 250 mm and beam axis height 50 mm was designed. Output energy at wavelength 308 nm (XeCl* mixture) is 5 mJ, maximal repetition rate - 1–2 pulses per second, beam divergence - 8 miliradians.

ACE with Compact Ciphertext Size and Decentralized Sanitizers

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2019
We present an access control encryption (ACE) scheme which enjoys advantages over previous works in several aspects. Our scheme ensures not only compact ciphertext size but also small size of keys installed in each user in the ACE system. Besides, to the best of our knowledge, our scheme is the first implementation of ACE with decentralized sanitizers.

Insensitivity of Compaction Properties of Brittle Granules to Size Enlargement by Roller Compaction

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2007
Pharmaceutical granules prepared by roller compaction often exhibit significant loss of tabletability, that is, reduction in tensile strength, when compared to virgin powder. This may be attributed to granule size enlargement for highly plastic materials, for example, microcrystalline cellulose.
