Influence of the spin on the radiation of a spinning emitter orbiting compact objects

2023
In this thesis, I develop a theoretical description of the radiation of an extended, spinning light source on a circular orbit in the symmetry plane of a stationary, axially symmetric and asymptotically flat spacetime. The light source is assumed to be a test particle, in order to neglect its gravitational influence on the background spacetime.

Compact Neutron Spin Echo Device with Foil Spin Flippers

2002
We developed a compact neutron spin echo set up (CNSE) based on a discshaped magnet in which gap two inclined thin foils, used as π/2 flippers, are magnetized by a precession field. This CNSE, considered as an option for neutron instruments, has been tested being “grafted” to a polarized neutron diffractometer.

A Compact Frozen-Spin Refrigerator Design

Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 2019
A dilution refrigerator design is proposed that could be used as an insert to a pre-existing Oxford Instruments 1 K $$^4\hbox {He}$$ evaporation refrigerator with a 5 T magnet.

Remarks on the non-compact spin systems

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, 1989
For an abstract thermodynamically well behaved local specification describing a lattice spin system with non-compact state space, the author gives a short proof of the independence of the limiting thermodynamics on the typical boundary conditions. This general theorem is then applied to superstable and regular spin systems studied by Lebowitz and ...

Quality aspects of compact spinning

2001
The compact or condenser spinning process produces a new yarn structure, which is the result of eliminating the spinning triangle which, in conventional ring spinning, is a potential weak or problem spot which negatively affects spinning stability and same yarn quality parameters.
