The Compact Support Neural Network. [PDF]
Neural networks are popular and useful in many fields, but they have the problem of giving high confidence responses for examples that are away from the training data. This makes the neural networks very confident in their prediction while making gross mistakes, thus limiting their reliability for safety-critical applications such as autonomous driving

The compact support property for measure-valued processes [PDF]
The purpose of this article is to give a rather thorough understanding of the compact support property for measure-valued processes corresponding to semi-linear equations of the form \[ \begin{aligned}& u_t=Lu+ u- u^p \text{in} R^d\times (0,\infty), p\in(1,2]; &u(x,0)=f(x) \text{in} R^d; &u(x,t)\ge0 \text{in} R^d\times[0,\infty).

Continuous functions with compact support
[EN] The main aim of this paper is to investigate a subring of the ring of continuous functions on a topological space X with values in a linearly ordered field F equipped with its order topology, namely the ring of continuous functions with compact support. Unless X is compact, these rings are commutative rings without unity.

Poisson Structures With Compact Support [PDF]
Abstract We construct several Poisson structures with compact support. For example, we show that any Poisson structure on ${\mathbb{R}}^{n}$ with polynomial coefficients of degree at most two can be modified outside an open ball, such that it becomes compactly supported.

Characterizations of Ultradistributions with Compact Support and Decomposition by Support [PDF]
In this paper we prove that every nonquasianalytic ultradistribution can be uniformly majorized by the behavior of test functions only on the support and that every ultradistribution with support in the union K 1 ∪ K 2 {K_1} \

S-transform based on compact support kernel [PDF]
In this paper, the use of a Compact Support Kernel (CSK) instead of the Gaussian window in the S-transform is proposed. The CSK is derived from the Gaussian but overcomes its practical drawbacks while preserving a large number of its useful properties. The width of the CSK is controlled by some parameters making it more flexible.

On the compact support principle on complete manifolds
AbstractIn this paper we study the compact support principle for singular elliptic inequalities on complete manifolds with a significant dependence on the spatial variable. In the process we underline the influence in our results both of the spatial variable and of the geometry of the ambient space.

Radial functions on compact support [PDF]
In this paper, radial basis functions that are compactly supported and give rise to positive definite interpolation matrices for scattered data are discussed. They are related to the well-known thin plate spline radial functions which are highly useful in applications for gridfree approximation methods.

Compact delivery support for REDUCE
AbstractCSL is a Lisp system specifically designed to support the REDUCE algebra system. This paper view the Lisp system upon which a Lisp-coded algebra system is coded as in effect a micro-kernel—it provides basic compilation, storage management and extended arithmetic capabilities that algebra needs, but is not much concerned with higher level ...
