Mechanisms of De‐icing by Surface Rayleigh and Plate Lamb Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ice accretion impacts daily life, renewable energy generation, maintenance, and security in industries and aeronautics. Acoustic waves (AW) are a promising method for ice removal, although de‐icing mechanisms require further investigation to optimize energy efficiency.

Hölder Continuous Solutions Of Boussinesq Equation with compact support [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
We show the existence of Holder continuous solution of Boussinesq equations in whole space which has compact support both in space and time.

A new class of radial basis functions with compact support

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 2001
Radial basis functions are well-known and successful tools for the interpolation of data in many dimensions. Several radial basis functions of compact support that give rise to nonsingular interpolation problems have been proposed, and in this paper we ...

Advances in Hybrid Icing and Frosting Protection Strategies for Optics, Lens, and Photonics in Cold Environments Using Thin‐Film Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of fundamentals and recent advances of transparent thin‐film surface acoustic wave technologies on glass substrates for monitoring and prevention/elimination of fog, ice, and frost. Fogging, icing, or frosting on optical lenses, optics/photonics, windshields, vehicle/airplane windows, and solar panel ...

Homeomorphism and diffeomorphism groups of non-compact manifolds with the Whitney topology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
For a non-compact n-manifold M let H(M) denote the group of homeomorphisms of M endowed with the Whitney topology and H_c(M) the subgroup of H(M) consisting of homeomorphisms with compact support. It is shown that the group H_c(M) is locally contractible

An Energy-Efficient and Compact Clustering Scheme with Temporary Support Nodes for Cognitive Radio Sensor Networks

open access: yesSensors, 2014
A cognitive radio sensor network (CRSN) is a wireless sensor network whose sensor nodes are equipped with cognitive radio capability. Clustering is one of the most challenging issues in CRSNs, as all sensor nodes, including the cluster head, have to use ...

A steady Euler flow with compact support [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
A nontrivial smooth steady incompressible Euler flow in three dimensions with compact support is constructed. Another uncommon property of this solution is the dependence between the Bernoulli function and the pressure.

Static and Dynamic Behavior of Novel Y‐Shaped Sandwich Beams Subjected to Compressive Loadings: Integration of Supervised Learning and Experimentation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the mechanical response of Y‐shaped core sandwich beams under compressive loading is investigated, using deep feed‐forward neural networks (DFNNs) for predictive modeling. The DFNN model accurately captures stress–strain behavior, influenced by design parameters and loading rates.

On the structure of support point sets

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1990
Let X be a metrizable compact convex subset of a locally convex space. Using Choquet's Theorem, we determine the structure of the support point set of X when X has countably many extreme points. We also characterize the support points of certain families
