Loop Quantum Gravity on Non-Compact Spaces [PDF]
We present a general procedure for constructing new Hilbert spaces for loop quantum gravity on non-compact spatial manifolds. Given any fixed background state representing a non-compact spatial geometry, we use the Gel'fand-Naimark-Segal construction to ...

Large multidimensional digital images of cancer tissue are becoming prolific, but many challenges exist to automatically extract relevant information from them using computational tools. We describe publicly available resources that have been developed jointly by expert and non‐expert computational biologists working together during a virtual hackathon

Determination of ADP/ATP translocase isoform ratios in malignancy and cellular senescence
The individual functions of three isoforms exchanging ADP and ATP (ADP/ATP translocases; ANTs) on the mitochondrial membrane remain unclear. We developed a method for quantitatively differentiating highly similar human ANT1, ANT2, and ANT3 using parallel reaction monitoring. This method allowed us to assess changes in translocase levels during cellular

Signature-based Tree for Finding Frequent Itemsets
The efficiency of a data mining process depends on the data structure used to find frequent itemsets. Two approaches are possible: use the original transaction dataset or transform it into another more compact structure.

Local support theorem for the exponential Radon transform [PDF]
We prove a local support theorem for the exponential Radon transform for functions of exponential decay at infinity. We also show that our decay condition is essentially sharp for the classical Radon transform for hyperbolic type domains as holes, by showing streched exponential counterexamples.

On positive definite distributions with compact support [PDF]
We propose necessary and sufficient conditions for a distribution (generalized function) $f$ of several variables to be positive definite. For this purpose, certain analytic extensions of $f$ to tubular domains in complex space $\mathbb{C}^n$ are studied. The main result is given in terms of completely monotonic functions on convex cones in $\mathbb{R}^

This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

TRPM8 levels determine tumor vulnerability to channel agonists
TRPM8 is a Ca2+ permissive channel. Regardless of the amount of its transcript, high levels of TRPM8 protein mark different tumors, including prostate, breast, colorectal, and lung carcinomas. Targeting TRPM8 with channel agonists stimulates inward calcium currents followed by emptying of cytosolic Ca2+ stores in cancer cells.

Charged reflecting stars supporting charged massive scalar field configurations
The recently published no-hair theorems of Hod, Bhattacharjee, and Sarkar have revealed the intriguing fact that horizonless compact reflecting stars cannot support spatially regular configurations made of scalar, vector and tensor fields. In the present

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...
