Graphite Nucleation in Compacted Graphite Cast Iron
During the last several decades, a multitude of theories have attempted to explain the process of graphite nucleation in lamellar (LG) and spheroidal (SG) graphite iron castings. Nevertheless, the complex 3D morphology of compacted graphite (CG) has hindered significant advances in similar theories for this type of graphite.

Compacted graphite iron: Cast iron makes a comeback
Although compacted graphite iron has been known for more than four decades, the absence of a reliable mass-production technique has resulted in relatively little effort to exploit its operational benefits. However, a proven on-line process control technology developed by SinterCast allows for series production of complex components in high-quality CGI.

Creep behavior accompanying oxidation of compacted graphite cast iron
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2018Abstract The creep behavior accompanying oxidation of a compacted graphite cast iron (CGI) containing Cu, Mo and Sn elements was studied at temperatures ranging from 350 °C to 550 °C and creep loads ranging from 40 MPa to 150 MPa. The creep damage was observed using both optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
